Kyra Minturn

Kyra Minturn, born August 19 1965, is an American actress. She is also a producer and director. Her leading role in TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most popular. In her role as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 as well as an Emmy Award in 2010. The seventh season of the show ended on the 13th of August 2012. Sedgwick is also well-known for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick received nominations for a Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's roles in other films include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's singles (1992) as well as Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996) and What's cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), an educator and speech therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian of English descent. Sedgwick declares that she is Jewish and has stated that she attends Passover seders.
